Q: I am buying my teenager a car. Where can I get a cheap SR22 insurance form policy for the two of us? We live in the Dallas FT Worth TX area.
A: I’d advise you to stay away from brand new cars for your teenager, even when you aren’t consider car insurance prices. Let it worry you or don’t, but the cost of insurance for brand new cars is very high, especially if they are expensive. If you’re going to be buying the car with a loan, your financier will put in the contract that you must have collision and comprehensive auto insurance coverage types, so your rates will be high already. New cars cost more both to replace and to fix.
A teenager would do best in a used car, because not only is it cheaper to get SR22 insurance form coverage with a used car, but it will also be less tragic if your teenager happens to mess the car up. You can even get your kid a pre owned certified car, which is a used car which works and has a warranty and is like a new car in every way except that it’s cheaper (to insure and buy), and it’s been existing a couple more years.
