The TX Department of Public Safety states that, the SR-22 is required for two years from the date of accident, date of conviction or date the judgment was rendered. You can check the law regarding this under Texas Transportation Code 601.056.

If you do not own a car, you may call an insurance provider or agent of your choice and speak to them about a non-owner SR-22.
