Q: What is a Ft. Worth SR22 form?

A: A Ft. Worth SR22 form is a form which you can get from your car insurancre company. A simple form, it is something your company will send off each month to the Department of Public Safety in order to prove to them that you are still insured by their company. In order for you to keep your driver’s license, you will have to have an SR22 form constantly on file. It is the only proof of insurance which will work in this sense, and you cannot simply show up once a month at your closest DPS office with an insurance card and expect to use that as proof.

Your SR22 form is required because your driver’s license has been suspended for some reason or other, which is why you need to ensure that you maintain financial responsibility in order to keep it. Because of your suspended license, you are now more of a liability on the road and more likely to get in an accident, and the state can’t pay for the damages you cause.

You won’t need a Ft. Worth SR22 form forever, though. After you have been filing it for two years, you can drop it and just get regular insurance, but you need to file it continuously during that time.
